McMenamins, Oregon Arts Commission & RACC  line up to support Ashleigh Flynn’s RIVETER!
 

Portland songwriter, Ashleigh Flynn, is Recipient of one of seven 2017 Oregon Arts Commission Fellowships  and of a 2017 Regional Arts and Cultural Council Project Grant, both to support the creation of her next song cycle: RIVETER, inspired by “Rosie the Riveter.” 

 
McMenamins has signed on as host to the cultivation of the tunes – providing a venue. During her residency at Al’s Den, she and her band will be cultivating the songs that will shape this upcoming release. Joined by a different special guest each night, every show will offer up an unique and captivating performance.

Chris Funk from the Decemberists has signed on as producer/engineer of the record, which aims to face the forces of sexism, homophobia, and ageism that permeate America by creating an infectious record of well-crafted Americana music delivered by a well-curated band of musically virtuous middle-aged women who write classic songs that speak to our common humanity – songs about love and loss, the forces of good and evil…and love and loss, good and evil are just that – regardless of whether you are young or old, gay or straight, man or woman…
